Brief Biography of Nnamdi Kanu
Nwannekaenyi Nnamdi Kenny Okwu Kanu or Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as he is popularly called, was born circa 1970 to a traditional ruler, HRH Eze Israel Kanu and Lolo Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu of Isiama Afaraukwu, Ibeku near Umuahia, Abia State. He attended Library Avenue Primary School (now part of the Abia State Government House, Umuahia) and Government College Umuahia for his Secondary school education before proceeding to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). He reportedly didn’t graduate from UNN but bolted to the United Kingdom to complete his tertiary education. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu – Director of Radio Biafra was a regular Joe Bloggs plying his trade in the United Kingdom until the Buhari administration (in)advertently transformed him into a brand, a force, an international figure and a folk hero of some sort. Mazi Kanu was a vitriolic foot soldier of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike-led separatist ‘’Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra’’ (MASSOB) but he reportedly parted ways with Uwazuruike afterwards and pitched his tent with another separatist platform – the ‘’Indigenous People of Biafra’’ (IPOB). Before his arrest, not many people knew about him or listened to his exuberant rants on his online London-based Radio Biafra. Like many youths of his age bracket, it appears Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was disillusioned with the Nigerian project, particularly his perceived marginalization and injustice meted out to people of his Igbo ethnic extraction. On 5 September 2015, he was a guest speaker at the World Igbo Congress held in California during which he allegedly demanded for weapons that would be used to actualize Biafra. Kanu’s outburst at the World Igbo Congress became his undoing.

The agencies of the Nigerian Government that have been intercepting my private telephone conversations to friends and loved ones in Nigeria must know that the truth is indestructible and although I'm not the truth, I'm a truth bearer. I do the truth and follow the truth whole-heartedly, religiously, faithfully, loyally, unrepentantly, fearlessly and unapologetically because the truth is eternal. It is the absolute and it is the highest measurement of a person - the individual, organizations and the nations and that weapon that will and can blast off the truth is not able to be manufactured until the time of the end, for the simple reason that that knowledge that will enable terrestial intelligence to manufacture such objects directed at the truth that can kill and wipe off the truth from the earth is not within and cannot be within the reach of any human intelligence and community because the Truth is from above and its origin is not from here, but from the supra-sensible.

A law unto themselves...in Buhari's Nigeria CHANGE means KILL AND GO!
Campaign Against Alarming Trend in Torture, Jungle Justice in Nigeria
This is certainly not the best time to be a suspect, an accused or caught red-handed violating a law or committing a crime in Nigeria, especially for the less privileged. The reason is obvious: torture, jungle (mob or street) justice is spreading across the nook and cranny of Nigeria at an alarming rate. A survey by NOIPolls in 2014 says about 95 percent of Nigerians affirmed that there was a high prevalence of jungle justice and mob attacks in Nigeria. Similarly, a Deutsche Welle report titled: ‘’When the mob rules: jungle justice in Africa’’ also submits that ‘’jungle justice is rampant across sub-Saharan Africa’’. The report went further to say that, ‘’every day at least one person on the continent faces torture or even death at the hands of irate citizenry determined to be judge, jury and executioner’’. Cameroon and Nigeria are said to have the highest rate of jungle justice in Africa. While affluent Nigerians habitually circumvent justice and get away with colossal stealing, corruption, criminal offences and malfeasance by hiring retinue lawyers, hapless Nigerians are tortured, instantly hacked to death for say, stealing a bicycle, on fanatical religious sentimentalities or for simply been at the wrong place at the wrong time. My earlier essay: ‘’Extra-judicial Killings, Right To Life of Gunshot Victims in Nigeria’’ records extra-judicial killings by security agents, the current essay will dissect acts of torture and jungle justice in Nigeria mainly by private citizens.

THE NEW BOKO HARAM (MIDDLE BELT AND SOUTHERN): CULTURAL IMPERIALISM AND PASTORAL JIHADISM IN NIGERIA
If We Must Die
If we must die, let it not be like hogs
Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,
While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs,
Making their mock at our accursèd lot.
If we must die, O let us nobly die,
So that our precious blood may not be shed
In vain; then even the monsters we defy
Shall be constrained to honor us though dead!
O kinsmen! we must meet the common foe!
Though far outnumbered let us show us brave,
And for their thousand blows deal one death-blow!
What though before us lies the open grave?
Like men we'll face the murderous, cowardly pack,
Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!
- Claude McKay
PART TWO
"And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions." - King Rehoboam in the Bible. 1 Kings 12:11
It is globally established that the primary responsibility of a sovereign state encompasses the protection, security or safety of lives and properties and creation of the right atmosphere where economic, social activities thrive. Decline or complete absence of such prerequisites by acts of commission or omission implies the sovereign state is inching towards a failed state. For clarity, a ‘’failed or failing state’’, refers to ‘’a political entity or nation in which the government is inept at living up to the basic tasks of a sovereign State, is on the verge of losing or has already lost political authority, control’’. Some of the unmistakable characteristics of a failing/failed sovereign state include very weak institutions, culture of impunity, gross human right abuses, absence of rule of law, unprecedented and entrenched corruption, incessant strife and instability, geometrical depreciation in security, safety of lives and properties, liberty and the standard of living.
."..the Nigerian Federation is a political union, and not a cultural one, hence in amalgamating, only the political was amalgamated and therafter, federated at independence and not the cultural; and in federating, only the political was federated and not the cultural or the anthropo-socio-cultural and the spiritual."

Boko Haram: A brief history
Who's that bloke behind you in a democracy, Mr President?
A foremost advocate of diarchy in Nigeria was the great Zik. And looking back after twenty years of his death, I dare say with all sense of responsibility that Benjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe did not really want and actually approve of diarchy as a form of government to be adopted by a superactive-super-eruptive polity like Nigeria, but hazarding a guess, the great man's concern/suggestion was borne out of looking for a lasting solution to the then military's frequent intervention in the governance of Nigeria through coups, which more often than not turned out to be the opposite of all of their purported coup missions of arresting the drift in the government they had chased out, blaming the government of and legitimising their action by adducing corruption as the reason why they struck.
