  • New WWF tool uses data from 50 organisations including NASA, the World Bank and IUCN to help investors and companies understand the risks they face from biodiversity loss
  • When used on a representative investor portfolio, the tool finds that most portfolio companies have a medium or high exposure to biodiversity-related risks

Today at the World Economic Forum meeting at Davos, WWF is launching a new tool to help companies and investors better understand their impacts and dependencies on nature.

WWF’s Biodiversity Risk Filter is a free to use, web-based tool that helps businesses identify and reduce biodiversity-related risks across their own operations, their value chains and investments.

Using 50 data sets from NASA, IUCN, the World Bank and many other sources, it breaks down complex biodiversity information to give decision makers practical information to assess biodiversity-related risks across all industries and in all countries.

RUBBISH, RUBBISH, RUBBISH EVERYWHERE AND NO JANITOR TO COLLECT THEM!

In this day and age when viruses have taken over the global atmosphere, coming one after another to torment mankind, the senior official of the Nigeria Low Commission didn’t just bother as he carried on attending to his compatriots as if the rubbish he was standing by were objects of decorations or the solutions Nigeria needed to liberate herself from her present mess nor did he pause to think both himself and his compatriots could catch Covid or other dangerous viruses by standing so, so close to the rubbish.

THE SERIALIZATION OF THE CRIMEBUSTER BY JOHN ODEY ADUMA, AUTHOR OF "BE A BEACON OF HOPE IN THE WORLD: A MESSAGE TO YOUNG BRITAIN"

As from next week, we shall as our patriotic response to the ever-worsening security situation in Nigeria, ECOWAS, Africa and in the world start the serialization of my new book The Crimebuster still in manuscript for the global policing, security, and defence community, particularly the Nigerian security agencies.

Putin has gone mad again!

But the world entire must not look the other way, and act in weakness and cowardice as mad and paranoid Vlad has above all else, gone nuts/bonkers/ballistic/nuclear…and the evil he intends to bring upon mankind is pregnant, and he is in its gestation period – already in the labour room of ignominy, everlasting shame and condemnation to give birth to it.

A loner and ever moaning-septuagenarian who is already tired of life could be worse than Hitler.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Dear Vlad,

BEHOLD, A WORSE THAN HILTLER IS HERE (Zech. 3:2)

O thou feral beast, thoroughly without human feelings, empathy, a sense of consideration, without the slightest milk of human kindness, thoughtfulness, universal altruism, without love, but unparalleled hatred for thyself first, thy immediate family, all Russians, and all Russia whom thou claim to be defending by leading them to this war of blame, shame, and incurable curse.

Peace to the nations

Enter, the Watchman for the nations: (Looking penitent and in sorrow of heart): Here I am, Lord…

Enter, Sovereign Lord – the Maker of heaven and earth:  Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. (Psalm 115:15).

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

As the world gathers in the great city of Glasgow between 01-12 November, 2021, JOHN ODEY ADUMA, an award-winning international environmentalist sends an S.O.S to world leaders to get serious this time round and act with dispatch to save the earth from the imminent climate Armageddon (CLIMATEMAGEDDON), pleading that they must all discuss as one people at the table of global brotherhood without bitterness and rancour, working as one broad human family to ensure the success of COP26, so it does not like the ones before it become another talk shop, “…full of sound and fury signifying nothing.”

Cross River State governor, Professor Ben Ayade Monday commiserated with the widow of late Brigadier General Anthony Ukpo (rtd), Mrs Salome Ufoma Ukpo and their children.

Ayade, who was at the Calabar residence of the late former Military Administrator of Rivers State, consoled the family, assuring them of government support and participation in the funeral rites.

He said the death of the retired General only reinforces his philosophy about life, which is that life is but vanity.

“That is just my philosophy about life. From nothing to nothing, life is just a waste. General Ukpo was a great man, a great warrior, he lived very strongly for this country. He had established factories and industries to create jobs for his people.

From Nairobi, Abuja, Lagos, Calabar, and elsewhere, African conservationist leaders participating in the 19th Chief S.L Edu Memorial Lecture joined the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) to advocate for ecosystem restoration, challenging Nigerian youths to help save the planet. On Thursday, August 12, 2021, NCF hosted a hybrid event to mark the 19th edition of the Chief S.L Edu Memorial Lecture with the theme: Youth and Ecosystem Restoration.

The State of the World’s Trees reveals that one-third of tree species are threatened with extinction. Although this news underlines the magnitude of the global challenge, successful Global Trees Campaign (GTC) projects from the past 20 years demonstrate that we can effectively protect and conserve threatened tree species. Now is the time for global action.
