Jews are also mentioned in the Quran in unflattering comparisons with animals. In one verse (Al-Ma’idah 60), it says that God once metamorphosed some Jews into apes and swine because they had been disobedient. According to two other verses, disobedient Jews were metamorphosed into apes (Al-Baqarah 65; Al-A’raf 166). To this day, numerous Muslims refer to Jews as “the siblings of apes and swine,” disregarding the fact that the Quran made such references in respect of disobedient Jews, not of all Jews. The same goes for the Quran’s likening of Jews who disobeyed the Torah to donkeys (Al-Jumu’ah 5).

The 7th of October massacre by Hamas of unarmed Israeli civilians and the Israeli response thereto have led to widespread, mostly anti-Israel demonstrations in various parts of the world. It is quite remarkable that emotions seem to run particularly high whenever Israel is involved in some conflict. Nothing appears to provoke the ire of numerous people in different parts of the world more than the words “Jews” and “Israel.” This can be easily seen when we compare people’s reaction to conflicts that do not involve Israel to those that do.

"The United States has assembled a superficially impressive international coalition against the threat of terrorism. Many countries in that coalition, however, contribute little of significance to the fight. Even worse, the willingness of some members of the coalition to actually combat terrorism is doubtful. Indeed, given their record, some of those countries appear to be part of the problem, not part of the solution. That concern is especially acute with respect to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and China.
Saudi Arabia enlisted in the fight against terrorism only in response to intense pressure from the United States following the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Even then, its cooperation has been minimal and grudging. For example, Riyadh has resisted Washington’s requests to use its bases in Saudi Arabia for military operations against Osama bin Laden’s terrorist facilities in Afghanistan.
Even that belated, tepid participation is an improvement on Saudi Arabia’s previous conduct. The U.S. government has warned that it will treat regimes that harbor or assist terrorist organizations the same way that it treats the organizations themselves. Yet if Washington is serious about that policy, it ought to regard Saudi Arabia as a prime sponsor of international terrorism. Indeed, that country should have been included for years on the U.S. State Department’s annual list of governments guilty of sponsoring terrorism.
The Saudi government has been the principal financial backer of Afghanistan’ s odious Taliban movement since at least 1996. It has also channeled funds to Hamas and other groups that have committed terrorist acts in Israel and other portions of the Middle East.
Worst of all, the Saudi monarchy has funded dubious schools and “charities” throughout the Islamic world. Those organizations have been hotbeds of anti‐Western, and especially, anti‐American, indoctrination. The schools, for example, not only indoctrinate students in a virulent and extreme form of Islam, but also teach them to hate secular Western values.
They are also taught that the United States is the center of infidel power in the world and is the enemy of Islam. Graduates of those schools are frequently recruits for Bin Laden’s Al‐Qaeda terror network as well as other extremist groups.
Pakistan’s guilt is nearly as great as Saudi Arabia’s. Without the active support of the government in Islamabad, it is doubtful whether the Taliban could ever have come to power in Afghanistan. Pakistani authorities helped fund the militia and equip it with military hardware during the mid‐1990s when the Taliban was merely one of several competing factions in Afghanistan’s civil war. Only when the United States exerted enormous diplomatic pressure after the Sept. 11 attacks did Islamabad begin to sever its political and financial ties with the Taliban. Even now it is not certain that key members of Pakistan’s intelligence service have repudiated their Taliban clients.
Afghanistan is not the only place where Pakistani leaders have flirted with terrorist clients. Pakistan has also assisted rebel forces in Kashmir even though those groups have committed terrorist acts against civilians. And it should be noted that a disproportionate number of the extremist madrasas schools funded by the Saudis operate in Pakistan.
China’s offenses have been milder and more indirect than those of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Nevertheless, Beijing’s actions raise serious questions about whether its professed commitment to the campaign against international terrorism is genuine. For years, China has exported sensitive military technology to countries that have been sponsors of terrorism. Recipients of such sales include Iran, Iraq and Syria.
Even though Chinese leaders now say that they support the U.S.-led effort against terrorism, there is no evidence that Beijing is prepared to end its inappropriate exports. At the recent APEC summit, China’s President Jiang Zemin was notably noncommittal when President Bush sought such a commitment. Whenever the United States has brought up the exports issue, Chinese officials have sought to link a cutoff to a similar cutoff of U.S. military sales to Taiwan — something that is unacceptable to Washington.
It is time for China, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia to prove by their deeds, not just their words, that they are serious about contributing to the campaign against international terrorism. In China’s case, that means ending all militarily relevant exports to regimes that have sponsored terrorism. In the cases of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, it means defunding terrorist organizations and the extremist “schools” that provide them with recruits. It also means severing ties with such terrorist movements as the Taliban and the Kashmiri insurgents. The world is watching the actions of all three countries."

A former British commander in Iraq says that Saudi Arabia and Qatar are accountable for globally spreading extremism.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, General Jonathan Shaw said that both of the Arab states have ignited a “time bomb” by funding extremism that has triggered the rise of the ISIL.
Britain’s former Assistant Chief of the Defense Staff went on to say that the two countries have spent billions of dollars on funding Wahhabi and Salafist militant groups.
Shaw also said Qatar and Saudi Arabia’s rulers, who are now more threatened by their creation than any other countries, must lead an ideological struggle against the ISIL terrorists.
The former commander also referred to the current military campaign against the ISIL as “futile” unless the underlying Takfiri ideology was also directly tackled.
“It (this ideology) is funded by Saudi and Qatari money and that must stop,” he added.
The US and its allies, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Jordan, have been conducting airstrikes against the ISIL inside Syria without any authorization from Damascus or a UN mandate for over two weeks.
According to a report published by The Telegraph, wealthy individuals in the Persian Gulf region have raised tens of millions of dollars for terrorist groups. The report also says Arab leaders have either chosen to ignore the problem or are complicit in the funding of the terrorists in Syria and Iraq.
The ISIL terrorists currently control large swathes of territory across Syria and Iraq. They have carried out heinous atrocities in both countries, including mass executions and beheadings of people.

Qatar and Saudi Arabia have ignited a “time bomb” by funding the global spread of radical Islam, according to a former commander of British forces in Iraq.
General Jonathan Shaw, who retired as Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff in 2012, told The Telegraph that Qatar and Saudi Arabia were primarily responsible for the rise of the extremist Islam that inspires Isil terrorists.
The two Gulf states have spent billions of dollars on promoting a militant and proselytising interpretation of their faith derived from Abdul Wahhab, an eighteenth century scholar, and based on the Salaf, or the original followers of the Prophet.
But the rulers of both countries are now more threatened by their creation than Britain or America, argued Gen Shaw. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) has vowed to topple the Qatari and Saudi regimes, viewing both as corrupt outposts of decadence and sin.
So Qatar and Saudi Arabia have every reason to lead an ideological struggle against Isil, said Gen Shaw. On its own, he added, the West’s military offensive against the terrorist movement was likely to prove “futile”.
“This is a time bomb that, under the guise of education, Wahhabi Salafism is igniting under the world really. And it is funded by Saudi and Qatari money and that must stop,” said Gen Shaw. “And the question then is ‘does bombing people over there really tackle that?’ I don’t think so. I’d far rather see a much stronger handle on the ideological battle rather than the physical battle.”
Gen Shaw, 57, retired from the Army after a 31-year career that saw him lead a platoon of paratroopers in the Battle of Mount Longdon, the bloodiest clash of the Falklands War, and oversee Britain’s withdrawal from Basra in southern Iraq. As Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff, he specialised in counter-terrorism and security policy.
All this has made him acutely aware of the limitations of what force can achieve. He believes that Isil can only be defeated by political and ideological means. Western air strikes in Iraq and Syria will, in his view, achieve nothing except temporary tactical success.
When it comes to waging that ideological struggle, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are pivotal. “The root problem is that those two countries are the only two countries in the world where Wahhabi Salafism is the state religion – and Isil is a violent expression of Wahabist Salafism,” said Gen Shaw.
“The primary threat of Isil is not to us in the West: it’s to Saudi Arabia and also to the other Gulf states.”
Both Qatar and Saudi Arabia are playing small parts in the air campaign against Isil, contributing two and four jet fighters respectively. But Gen Shaw said they “should be in the forefront” and, above all, leading an ideological counter-revolution against Isil.
The British and American air campaign would not “stop the support of people in Qatar and Saudi Arabia for this kind of activity,” added Gen Shaw. “It’s missing the point. It might, if it works, solve the immediate tactical problem. It’s not addressing the fundamental problem of Wahhabi Salafism as a culture and a creed, which has got out of control and is still the ideological basis of Isil – and which will continue to exist even if we stop their advance in Iraq.”
Gen Shaw said the Government’s approach towards Isil was fundamentally mistaken. “People are still treating this as a military problem, which is in my view to misconceive the problem,” he added. “My systemic worry is that we’re repeating the mistakes that we made in Afghanistan and Iraq: putting the military far too up front and centre in our response to the threat without addressing the fundamental political question and the causes. The danger is that yet again we’re taking a symptomatic treatment not a causal one.”
Gen Shaw said that Isil’s main focus was on toppling the established regimes of the Middle East, not striking Western targets. He questioned whether Isil’s murder of two British and two American hostages was sufficient justification for the campaign.
“Isil made their big incursion into Iraq in June. The West did nothing, despite thousands of people being killed,” said Gen Shaw. “What’s changed in the last month? Beheadings on TV of Westerners. And that has led us to suddenly change our policy and suddenly launch air attacks.”
He believes that Isil might have murdered the hostages in order to provoke a military response from America and Britain which could then be portrayed as a Christian assault on Islam. “What possible advantage is there to Isil of bringing us into this campaign?” asked Gen Shaw. “Answer: to unite the Muslim world against the Christian world. We played into their hands. We’ve done what they wanted us to do.”
However, Gen Shaw’s analysis is open to question. Even if they had the will, the rulers of Saudi Arabia and Qatar may be incapable of leading an ideological struggle against Isil. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is 91 and only sporadically active. His chosen successor, Crown Prince Salman, is 78 and already believed to be declining into senility. The kingdom’s ossified leadership is likely to be paralysed for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile in Qatar, the new Emir, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, is only 34 in a region that respects age. Whether this Harrow and Sandhurst-educated ruler has the personal authority to lead an ideological counter-revolution within Islam is doubtful.
Given that Saudi Arabia and Qatar almost certainly cannot do what Gen Shaw believes to be necessary, the West may have no option except to take military action against Isil with the aim of reducing, if not eliminating, the terrorist threat.
“I just have a horrible feeling that we’re making things worse. We’re entering into this in a way we just don’t understand,” said Gen Shaw. “I’m against the principle of us attacking without a clear political plan.”

Sailors and Royal Marines who organised the King’s Coronation and revolutionised the way the Service uses tech have been singled out in the New Year’s Honours.
Twenty-three full-time and Reservist personnel face a trip to the Palace for investitures from knighthood to the King’s Volunteer Reserve Medal.
Described as the “principal driving force” behind the Royal Navy’s contribution to the May’s Coronation of His Majesty The King, Commander Trefor Fox – based at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth – is made an OBE.
Some 900 personnel from across the Naval Service were mustered either to take part directly in ceremonial events or support the huge security effort shielding the largest State Ceremonial Event since 1953.
Cdr Fox, who is based at the Navy’s headquarters in Portsmouth, was “at the epicentre of every aspect of planning” of the Navy’s involvement from arranging transport plans and training to supporting rehearsals – balancing the requirements to support the Coronation with the need to maintain training and front-line operations.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has shown the world once again that it is an endless nightmare. Never-ending violence, carnage, and barbarism. Israel is a legitimate state recognized by international law. It is, in its modern form, the child of the UN. It came into existence in 1948 as a result of the 1947 Partition Plan instigated by the UN where there was to be a Jewish state and a Palestinian one. The Jews accepted it. The Arabs rejected it, although a small minority of them, such as King Abdullah of Jordan who was the grandfather of King Hussein, accepted it. He was later assassinated for his wise stance. Neighbouring Arabic-speaking states subsequently launched a war on Israel and lost. This started a long series of conflicts in which those states mostly fuelled the fires of war and confrontation.

Puppetism and Marionetism – ECOWAS, Self-interest and the Problematization of non-Problems
The ongoing ‘war’, the unnecessary abrasive, arrogance, and infantile jaw-jaw is on the one hand with revolutionary forces versus puppets and marionettes that have been teleguided in the past by postcolonial-neocolonial apostles who till the very present are still being so teleguided; and on the other hand, it is a ‘war’ between Putinism/Authoritarianism and Westernism/Democracy and the rule of law.
(And) due to the lack of visionaries, mature, reflective, conscientious and Africancentric leadership amongst the present crop of Western puns that abound in West African governance, which of course, is responsible for the current epidemic of coups and terror activities, wrong foot was put forward in the ongoing negotiation between the ECOWAS leadership/their Western masters who are pulling the strings from the background, and the junta; and by the reckoning of this writer, it is akin to a motor park-bolekaja diplomacy, and amounts to otunu (Yala, for push fight or agent provocateurs) and militaristic sort of doing political business or deals, hence the art and science of cool or level-headed dialogue/diplomacy was thrown overboard for political gangsterism, infantilism, rascality, brinkmanship and mindless jagabanism.
Also, turning Niger Republic into a sort of regional Mecca is simply not only time-wasting and energy sapping, but an exercise in the worst form of infantilism, reducing pre-eminent persons in the region such as former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, Brigadier General Sa’adu Mohammed Abubakar IV, that very, very retrogressive Sultan of the modern world; SLS (Sanusi Lamido Sanusi) and the notable Islamic clerics – the Ulammas to mere jokers, idle errand boys and a sort of Ajala or regional troubadours from Nigeria.
WHY ARE TINUBU AND HIS DIPLOMATIC EMMISARIES FROM NIGERIA SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE COUP IN NIGER – BECAUSE OF THE “BRETHREN”, THEIR BUSINESS INTEREST IN THE REPUBLIC OF NIGER; OR FROM BAT, A PLOY FOR POLITICAL DIVERSION FROM THE REALITIES AT HOME, MORE SO, WHEN IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE AN ALL-ECOWAS MATTER?
What I can’t understand is, the matter at hand is supposed to be a matter for all ECOWAS, and if this is the case, as it truly is, the question then is, why has it been stupidly Nigerianised, and by so doing, reduce our country to an American Alsatian dogs that can bark, but cannot bite or a mere kitten licking ice cream, and by extension, the Nigerian fifle as mere jokers or a sort of la la nla from the Republic of Lalala?
Having so much to write on this subject matter but due to time constraint, and since the yunta (junta) has proposed a three-year gradual transition to the so-called democratically elected Government, it is thus, not hard for the discerning mind that the matter at hand has been reduced to a sort of haggling and bargaining scenario between an akuya owner and a customer at Kano or Sokoto market which no doubt requires a dexterous negotiation by persons well versed in the art and science of human face and conscientious diplomacy.
THE ONGOING EUROCLYDON: ECOWAS MUST NOT FALL …. ALL AFRICA MUST NOT ALLOW ARROGANT WEST TO LIBYANISED NIGER OR ANY PART OF THE CONTINENT ANYMORE - AND ALL FRENCH PUPPETS AND COLONIES IN AFRICA MUST BE SACKED AND DISMANTLED BY DECEMBER 31ST, 2023….I DECREE THIS BY OUR ANCESTORS!

And instead of grandstanding and their unnecessary agberoic braggadocio, the ball is now in the court, not of Nigerians nor those with vested self-interest from the West, but ECOWAS as a body, representing all the West African states and their people to return to the negotiating table with General Abdourahmane Tchiani and his gang acting on behalf of Putin and his Russia/Wagner and make their own reasonable offer for (a) reasonable adjustment/s, cutting down or better to say, propose a 6-month transition period during which an election will be held to usher in a new democratically elected Government as desired by the Nigeriens themselves and not by any external forces/meddlers; or if the proposed six months is not acceptable to the yoonta (junta), then a year could be proposed, and if still not okay by the yoonta, then two years; and if yet this does not go down well with them, leading to their outright refusal and stiff-neckedness, then indulge them with their three miracles, (aftercall, three years is but three seconds), which they hope to perform signs and wonders, thereby returning the glory of Niger Republic that hitherto was lost by Mohamed Bazoum and his ilk – especially his predecessors.

And whatever period is agreed to by all concerned, both Tchiani and Bazoum can face each other in an election, and by then, it is expected that Tchiani would have dropped his Khaki to contest for the post of President as a civilian, but certainly not whilst yet wearing khaki!

In the past it was said whilst the missionaries handed the Bible to the Africans, told them to close their eyes for a prayer session, and whilst they were chorusing “Holy…” to the prayer of the missionaries for them - who were regurgitating to them: O’ Lord our Heavenly Father…” with the Africans responding, shaking, clapping and verbalizing: “Holy, holy, holy, holy…”, trucks were loading Africa’s resources to the sea – just as the Arabs on their own, handed the Koran, beads and the sword – and told the Africans, use these two to pray 24/7, and the sword, you must use it to slaughter yourselves, rather slaughters all kafirs, snatch all their ancestral lands and keep for us as Muslims Land and ensure you come over for the usual tourism as many times thou can, and ensure you bring all your money/resources.
As evident above, despite all these, there are still sick Europeans/Westerners, Americans, Asians and Russians out there mouthing excitedly in ignorance that Africa has not contributed anything to civilization: Let therefore, all those who still hold onto this ignorant and stupid views be told that Africa is not only the pioneer of civilization, agriculture as is known today, technology as is known today, but the home/mother land of/for all humanity.
And whilst all the world – Europe, America, Asia, Russia, the Arabs, etc, etc, are a possibility because of Africa; Africa is a possibility because of neither of them, because Africa is not only self-dependent and indeed, if not for the stupidity of the continent’s leadership, can be self-dependent because Africa does not need any of these nations and continent to live, exist, thrive, feed, survive and succeed.

I began my journalism and writing careers as both a college journalist and a budding writer in 1977 at the Great Aladura Comprehensive High School, Anthony Village, Lagos, Nigeria, in addition to being trained at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Ife, Nigeria as a literary critic and scholar, between 1985 and 1989. Therefore, these long years of practising journalism and writing automatically qualify me as a veteran journalist as well as an established writer, more so, a published author, whose latest work is titled: Be a Beacon of Hope in the World: A Message to Young Britain.
Also, by these long years in the journalism profession, I’m able to discern when something is not right in a news item of whatever platform, be it the conventional or the social media. Both early morning and afternoon of Monday the 7th of August 2023, having been waiting very anxiously for the result of the match between Nigeria’s Super Falcons and England’s Lionesses, although not a soccer enthusiast, in between my very busy schedules, I was on and off my favourite Channel, Sky, but instinctually as the result after the result had been announced, I sensed something was not right as after they had told the viewers the result of the match, they merely concentrated on the interviews their Correspondents had in Brisbane with England fans.
So, I began asking myself: “Why are they showing just the interviews with the fans and not the actual scenes of the match?”
Also, in the philosophical realm, I was asking, “Is Sky not willing to show the Nigerian players because everybody was praising them and concluding that the Nigerian players gave a very good account of their soccer dexterity.
As the reader would bear me witness, the Western Media generally, hardly report anything positive about Nigeria, and by extension, continental Africa – “is this then the reason Sky is not showing the scenes of the match?” I had again asked myself.
Having no answer to offer myself, I afterward left my residence for a walk as is customary of me to do, at exactly 17:-00 UK time, and came in at exactly 20:00, UK time.
Taking my seat, I said a short prayer and then switched on my TV to Channel 233. Lo, and behold, on there, was a snapshot of the very ugly, barbaric, and bestial scenes, where whatever be her name – Lauren James aggressively and bestially stamped on the back of Ms Michelle Alozie. But did she think the civilized world would applaud her jungle-like bestiality?
Expectedly I screamed out: “Why(?)!” “Why? (!)” “Why? (!).
Whilst waiting for the full story, I quickly raced back ‘home’ – to see how Nigerian newspapers have reported those scenes, but not surprising, in all the papers I had checked – The Guardian, where I had worked and shone as a Staff Reporter, The Punch, where I had also worked, Vanguard, The Cable, Sahara Reporters, The Daily Post, none has reported the Laurenian or the Jamesian bestiality or brutishness or aggression/violence.
Excepting, The Guardian, the other papers mentioned above, had no story on the Match between the Falcons and the Lionesses, unless the story was tucked somewhere on the Sports page.
As an enthusiastic and a close watcher of the media in Nigeria, I can confirm that the news gathering business of the media in Nigeria is still pre-historic in nature, and to put it very mildly, analogic!
The rapidity or the lightning speed with which Western media change news items 24/7 in the Internet Age is totally lacking amongst the media in Nigeria. Yet, in passing this verdict on my colleagues back home, I must say that with all sense of responsibility, I arrive at this conclusion, taking cognizance of all the constraints that they often do face 24/7, in comparison with their Western media counterparts, including non-payment of salaries, which has made many a journalist in Nigeria compromised themselves - doing cattle egrets, MORE BLESSINGS SAH (!) and political attachments.
But can any editor in that country worth their salt issue written queries to their reporters/correspondents why they were all far, far behind in reporting the ongoing FIFA Female World Cup Tournament in Brisbane like their counterparts in the West as in the Age of the Internet – 24/7 news coverage era, news outlets/sources have widened and expanded beyond any human imagination?
And regarding Ms James, firstly, I have so many things to say to her, but I will hold back because I belong to the two great Countries – Nigeria and Great Britain, and I have come to see my self over the years as an ambassador for the two great nations.
But why did Ms James do that which she did to her own very natural sister, the Atlantic, notwithstanding?
Some people have explained her barbarism as the result of fatigue or stress and frustration, but does not wisdom counsel self-restraint and circumspection during the heat - the frustration of the moment?
Secondly, because of her age as in my roots, which too unarguably, is Ms Lauren James’ roots, although, most persons of African ancestry on this side the Atlantic can go violent if you link them with their original/authentic African roots – in which case, like others of her ilk, she too is either in denial of her African roots or she has lost it for a mess of pottage like the Biblical Esau - she is still a mere child.

The purpose of the joint invite by first, Ms Michelle Alozie, and ReBAT is to give Ms James a proper home training, starting with lessons in proper manners that will make her fit into the human society – the lessons should include teaching her how to be both human and humane, so that henceforth, she will learn how to treat her fellow human beings as she would herself love to be treated, including receiving a great lesson in SELF-IDENTITY, which should be extended to every Caribbean and all persons of African descent, who never accept their AFRICAN ROOTS, AFRICAN IDENTITY OR AFRICANESS, and by so doing, ignore the eternal wisdom of Brother Peter Tosh: “No matter where you come from….”
Lastly, Lauren must learn that more than competitive religions that have over-emphasised the differences in human society, sports, and foremost, soccer, has united the world and all humanity more than anything and anyone else.
Therefore, she should always, whether in moments of anger or tranquillity, comport herself as an ambassador for peace, unity, justice, destined to spread love to every little corner of the globe, starting from her own very little corner.
Yet, the heavens will not forgive me, if I fail to ask Ms Lauren James this one question on behalf of our ancestors and posterity: WHAT STORY/INFORMATION DOES SHE HAVE ABOUT AFRICA/AFRICANS?
