HON GBA WON LETI

It is now clear to everyone in Nigeria that the chaotic House of APC which in another dimension is the Arewa House of Treachery and Kataka which is of the lineage of Uthman Dan Fodio, which is of the family compound of Uthman Dan Fodio, otherwise known as the House of Uthman Dan Fodio is not only in a state of permanent flux, but full of arch coup plotters and coup plotters, both of the military and civilian types. Did not one Muhammadu Buhari smuggle himself and his gang into power on December 27th 1983 by truncating a democratically elected Government?

Did that same Muhammadu Buhari not get back to power on May the 29th, 2015 having earlier been elected on March 28th, 2015 through couptimidation or better still, electimdation, only for the reactionary elements from the Axis of Political Pendulum (APP) or Axis of Political Prostitution (Middle Belt or Midland) in collusion with some rebels from the opposite Party, funded by very powerful vested interest groups within and outside the Parties ganged up against the effeminate APC in a Saracoup?

And is the anti-Nigerianist and arch-nepotist Muhammadu Buhari not currently plotting a coup against Nigerianism, and the Nigerian electorate who were couptimidated/electimidated into voting for him and his Arewa Political Consortium (APC), the APC by way of telegraphic political appointments - appointing only the Arewites as his core security and administrative staff, and then extending this legendary nepotism of his dating back to his days as a military dictator, through the Petroleum Trust Fund when he hurled mostly Southern politicians into jail and gave juicy contracts to his kinspeople?

Therefore, as our attempt to foil the many types of coup that abound in the Arewa Political Caliphate (APC), it is hereby as a matter of national urgency and without further delay and much ado demanded herein, inter alia, that unless General Muhammadu Buhari is running a secret-cultic Government, he has just this week to cause the publication of the Ahmed Joda Transition Committee Report (TAJTCR) in all national dailies or put same in the public domain by creating an official website or cause to put same on the official website of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria solely for the purpose, display copies at the APC Headquarters in Abuja, in States Houses of Assembly Libraries or Lobbies, Local Government Headquarters, Council libraries, community libraries (if any), national libraries, museums, 5-Star hotels' lobbies, send copies to schools, colleges and the universities, display copies in palaces, constituencies headquarters/wards, so that Nigerians can download, read, make copies for themselves or purchase copies and have insight and perspective into the contents (therein) of the Arewa Manual (AM) or Arewa Planogramme (AP) or Arewa Plan of Action (APA) or Arewa Action Plan (AAP), otherwise known as the Ahmed Joda Transition Committee Report.

Similarly, the PDP as a matter of same exigency should do likewise for the same purpose by putting their handover note to the APC/Buhari Administration in the public domain with a view to ending their tissues of lies about empty treasury.

Also, self-righteous Buhari and his Government must publicly account for all revenues the nation has been able to generate under their watch, both at home and abroad to confirm or otherwise the veracity of their wolf-crying.

MR PRESIDENT, FAIRNESS AND BALANCE (FAB), BALANCE AND FAIRNESS (BAF), MR PRESIDENT

What is more, the President has just one week to reverse all appointments already made to ensure ethnic, religious and regional balance. Any Nigerian can serve their country, guard and protect their President - the President is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not the President of any regional enclave.
What is more, Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu have just this week to cause the removal of the President's picture from the Arewa Consultative Forum's webiste. It has taken me years to call for the removal of the pictures of all former Presidents/Heads of State from this regional association, and I'm not going to have it any more this time round, unless the President indeed wants to tell the world he is the President of Arewa and NOT the President of Nigeria.
Elsewhere, having his picture on a sectional/regional/ethnic website is enough to disqualify him from being picked as a Presidential flag bearer of a national Party as his allegiance to the Nigerian State is already in doubt.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR ALL GOVERNMENT MINISTRIES/DEPARTMENTS & AGENCIES

Henceforth, the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Apex Legislative Assembly, Government agencies, States Government and Local Government Councils must bring their existing official websites up to date and to international standards supplying all relevant information such as names of principal staff, contact persons, emails, telephone numbers, press bureau, names and emails of media staff, reliable and comprehensive "Contact Us", short message form, press releases, latest news, speeches of the Head, case studies, white papers, photo gallery/projects (optional), drop your feedback, suggestions/ideas section, complaint section or "Tell it to the Head/Minister/Governor", etc.
Also, each website must have the head shots of principal officers, their biogs and the department's/ministry's organogrammes, facebook, twitter (etc), and those who are yet to have websites MUST as a matter of necessity create websites which are of international standards - and these websites must be regularly updated as it is usually very frustrating to obtain reliable/authentic/confirmed information about virtually everthing Nigerian, specific departments of Governments, business/political information, coupled with the fact that one doesn't usually get any person from whom to obtain general information, special information or pass security information to the Nigerian Government all of the time. What a grievous shame!

WARNING ON BUILDING/COUNSTRUCTION OF OFFICIAL WEBSITES
It must not be an opportunity to Fasholise the price/cost please!

EXAMPLES
Some years back I personally was to pass security information to the Jonathan Government through the SGF or any designated person, but that patriotic efforts of mine were frustrated.
Just last year, 2014 when the Western media were claiming all over the place erroneosly that over 2000 people were killed by Boko Haram at Baga, I did not then and up till now still do not believe that cooked up figures meant to damage the country before the international community, and having carried out investigations in all of the Northen States of Nigeria in the last 23 years and being very conversant with all the terrains the terrorists are operating, I had got in touch with the National Population Commission in order for us to get the actual official population figure of Baga and up till today, 04/07/2015, the NPC is yet to revert back to me on my official request!

I have also had the same frustration with the Corporate Affairs Commission when I sought to know officially in writing about a particular organisation known for its penchant for heating up the polity in the last 16 years and up till this time the CAC is yet to reply to my email to them seeking a very important information about a notorious organisation from a Government arm such as the CAC!

THEIR CLAIM AND BLATANT LIE

"The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) is a coalition of the elected Governors of the country’s 36 States. It is a non-partisan association which seeks to promote unity, good governance, better understanding and co-operation among the States and ensure a healthy and beneficial relationship between the States and other tiers of government."
NIGERIA HIGH COMMSION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
It is far worse at the NHCUK if you are looking for any information from them about the Commission and about Nigeria from their officials. In fact, staff of the NHCUK here treat their fellow compatriots like pests and outcasts with inexplicable disdain from personal experiences as witnessed by me, but my personal case appears different because they know I'm a journalist.

Moreso, I had spent years of being up with my winnowing fork to see things changed/done there properly to international standards - although a little better now as at the time I visited some years back, but complaints of Nigerians to me still leave much to be desired.
The last time I was at the NHCUK, they just had toilets for both sexes in the same cubicle, not partitioned, which made males and females to be inside the same cubicle, stepping on each other without privacy. I did complain about this and was directed to an elderly man who was supposed to be a senior person, but whose level of reasoning was like that of a child. He ONLY showed seriousness after I had introduced myself.
Nigerians had complained to me about how they were usually left under rains and cold each time they had something to do there and the elements were unfavourable. These have painted Nigeria in a very bad light in a multicultural Britain as other nationals often do ask: "Is this how you treat your citizens?"

My first shocker when I went to the NHCUK with Stella Marris-Ekpene to arrange for the Lecture I was to deliver there in 2004 was to find that the whole of the Consular Office was peopled with Yorubas with just one Hausa person. This was under Dr Chrstopher Kolade. It was only diluted after I had complained in writing to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and published my findings at the High Commission in the Nigerian news media.
The case of one Mrs Obileye Minister level 3, brings to mind the saddest expereince I had ever received from any human being, when I was barely a year in the UK, whilst preparring to deliver a lecture at the Commission before and on the day of the lecture on August 31st, 2004 under Christopher Kolade. Mrs Obileye was then in charge of the Consulate Affairs on Chancery Lane at the time and she did everything to frustrate our efforts first in getting a date for the lecture took upward of four months.

On the day we had a meeting for the fixing of the lecture date, I went in the company of Ms Ekpene, Francis Amedjornoku, a Ghanaian and where Mrs Obileye felt best to receive the 'pests' - was in a dusty storage non-spacious office where old-dusty file cabinets were kept, instead of the very-large spacious Committee Room which she had 'colonised' as her office to play a queenly despot in her delusions of grandeur.

Taking us as she later confessed as those Nigerians whom she said went to the Commission to make monetary demands on them, hence was treating us in such a shabby manner. She had to have her bloated ego bursted by the then Ms Ekpene (now Mrs Orji) who out of that burst up anger at the mistreatment we were getting from a fellow Nigerian, introduced me to her as formerly Chairman, Editorial Board of the Daily Times of Nigeria Plc and saying forcefully to me in that angry mood: "John, show her those pictures of yours with the President - (former President Olusegun Obasanjo) and copies of your books! That man, you see there is not a small man, he's one of the great Nigerians of this generation, but he doesn't carry it on his head. The President of Nigeria knows about what he's doing here as well as Governors back home!"

It was only when Mrs Obileye saw all these that she sat up and and now accorded us the respect we all deserved. But must it be so? The High Commssion and Embassies across the globe are supposed to be places of refuge for Nigerians in the Diaspora, but from the reports I have from all over the world, Nigerians abroad are treated like faeces by their compatriots working in High Commissions and Embassies Offices, hence some Nigerians have been dying avoidable deaths abroad when they have problems with their host countries - something that could have been averted had these officials think the lives of their compatriots abroad matter and moved quickly. The President's attention MUST be drawn to this shoddy attitude of Embassies/High Commissions officials in the Diaspora towards their compatriots and he MUST thereafter make policy/public pronouncements on this shoddiness, gross irresponsibility and lack of patriotism.

Some years back when I was to renew my passport, I was told by London it would take a month to be done and when I sought an explanation they said it would take Abuja a month to process it. And being not satisfied I asked for the phone number of the Abuja office and the contact person and upon contacting them, they confirmed the veracity of London's claim. But no sooner had I dropped the handset that they phoned me up and told me it would be ready the following day. They then asked me to go to the Nigeria High Commission Office in London to pick up my passport the following day.

When they were queried on both sides of the Atlantic, they simply told me: "Na because you be Oga, we no want enter trouble. We don hear so much about you."
I then mildly reprimanded them and told them services to the nation and their customers ought not to be based on status, reminding them of the need to treat every Nigerian equally and afterwards advised them they needed to adopt international standards in the provinsion of services to their compatriots who are their customers and are in fact, regarded as CUSTOMERS here in the West.
To be continued.

Dr Olufunke Akinkurolere, Rector of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, IGBESA...just a mere figure head?

We would begin this editorial by sounding a very strong warning to all political officials in Nigeria that the days are fast gone when public officers think they can do whatever they like and get away with it or continue business as usual. All political officials and their cronies MUST hear us loud and clear that we shall from this side of the Atlantic henceforth, keep them on their toes and give them sleepless nights until they do what is right for the overall good of the Nigerian people.

THE CAR BUHARI DOES NOT WANT? Just a mere headline grabbing rubbish...if the President is that well meaning, he should have said henceforth, all things Nigerians and indeed, his Government will need must be produced locally and whatever we can't produce in Nigeria we don't need. This is how a visionary thinks. Put on your thinking cap, Mr President!

Boko Haram: The Attacks Next Time

Written by

There is no gainsaying the fact that terrorism is a very complex, constantly evolving phenomenon with varying procedures and targets. It is dangerous to confine the inventiveness of man or of extremists. Terrorism basks on the duality of surprise and near unpredictability. Hindsight tells us that several terrorist incidents could have been pre-empted and frustrated if the security agencies had been able to forecast probable scenarios and left no stone unturned in forestalling such. While this essay is not strictly in the realm of ‘terrorism futures’ - a scientific approach that analyses, discerns or models the probability, modus operandi of terrorism; it is nonetheless aimed at (a) extrapolating plausible scenarios or maneuver that Boko Haram may adopt as the sect re-strategizes in the face of the current onslaught against it and (b) nudging Nigerian military strategists, security agencies and policy makers not to relapse, but rather to be proactive, think the unthinkable and up their game to avert unpleasant surprises or "failure of imagination" as some liken the September 11 terrorist attack where the “dots were not connected” prior to the terrorist incident.

The unremitting frequency of fire outbreaks in Nigeria is no doubt very distressing, especially during the harmattan season. Earlier this year, Heritage Mall Ibadan and a section of the Sam Mbakwe Cargo airport in Imo State were gutted by fire, resulting in flight delays and cancellations. Recently, multiple fire incidents engulfed two markets in Lagos - the popular Balogun and Okobaba Plank markets. Also in Lagos State, fire outbreaks took place in Marina (500 Shops were razed), at a warehouse in Mosheshe Industrial Estate, Kirikiri, and in Sabo Yaba. At the time of writing this piece, Lagos State witnessed more than 15 fire outbreaks within 72 hours in the second week of January 2015.
