No one, but BAT in all the world has hooked and captured so many journalists and academics to his side! The very people who chased out the looters in khaki are now romancing, kissing, wining and dining, and sleeping in the same bed with the looters in agbada, worse than all the military looters combined; including those who only yesterday were teaching their students what they were not being paid to teach, shouting “More blessings, sah” before all those in Nigeria with dirty wealth, amongst whom BAT is chief. This is what this writer calls POLITICAL ATTACHMENT. This is how the Nigerian polity and economy have been re-arranged to become. You have to attach yourself to one stay-in-politics-forever political crook and pen robber or another or someone with dirty wealth in order to make it in today’s Nigeria. And more shameful and very embarrassing is the fact that employers of labour in modern Nigeria are these rogues, crooks, (ex-)bandits, terrorists, Islamists, oil thieves, and those facing the so-called anti-corruption agencies, including those who have cleverly negotiated their way out of the wrath of the law by returning some ‘chicken feeds’ out of the much they had looted from the public treasuries. But how did Bola Ahmed Tinubu come about his bonanza?

Every nation on the planet earth puts forward their best to serve in their exalted offices, particularly the Presidency, knowing full well that the destiny of a nation is tied to such a leader and all who govern their nation.

Thus, it is to be said arguably that a nation is as healthy as its leader or crop of its leaders. Conversely, a nation is as sickly as its leader and all of its crop of leaders at any given point in time just as a nation will be very corrupt as its leader or crop of its leaders, hence it is often said a sound mind is to be found only in a sound body.

But in Nigeria, only the corrupt, the idiots, the indolent, the sick at heart and mind and the very sick bodily, the illiterate are pushed forward to serve in especially the exalted office of President so that all the corrupt, the crooks, the crooked, thieves, armed and pen robbers, termites, vultures, snakes, pythons, worms, ferocious and mindless locusts, mosquitoes, cockroaches, the political predators, sharks, the professional looters can take advantage of their unsound mind trapped in an equally unsound body – their very poor and ever worsening and deteriorating state of health to enable them loot maximally.

If in 2003, recent history regarding their sordid experiences, shame, embarrassment, and acute agony in Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari do not serve as great lessons to them such that they keep away from that exalted and hallowed ground of service, kleptocrats, sickly and demented men and women without a sound mind in a sound body, all the world will remember Nigeria and the Nigerian people perpetually as a nation of unserious and foolish people who delight in living in pains, suffering and smiling.

Need I remind fellow Nigerians and all humanity that the motto of my alma mater, that very great institution: Aladura Comprehensive High School, Anthony Village, Lagos Nigeria remains: “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body”.

THE BEFITTING BURIAL CEREMONY FOR THE APC

In 2023 which the heavens have decreed the expiry/use by date of the ruling party, either the Nigerian people will have a final rendezvous with the APC, or the APC will have that final rendezvous with the Nigerian people and their country. Whichever way, either has the capacity and capability to bury the other dead or alive.

But if it is the Nigerian people that will rid their national spaces of the leprous APC, let the burial ceremony be a very miserable one, with that party of vampires conveyed in just a wheelbarrow to its final resting place. A word is enough for a wise people.

APC is a curse on the Nigerian people, a scourge on national psyche and a leprous on the soul of the nation. Therefore, it is either that the Nigerian people will collectively get rid of the APC or APC will scatter the nation, for it is the very sword of Damocles over the head of Nigeria and upon her destiny. Since the history of Nigeria, no party or a group of very crooked people have ever had such a worst influence on the psyche of the nation like the APC.

Mammoth crowds do not a winning make, but they win elections who have something to sell to the electorate. Thus, in an ideal environment/polity, winning elective offices is all about visions, missions, ideas, ideologies, purpose, compassion for the people, identifying the (key) issues of the day, problems of the country and packaging them in a manifesto or in a blueprint. It is therefore, not enough to run, but to run with common sense and a purpose, and if these are in deficit, then run with simple sense and win with integrity and dignity – although, winning elective offices in Nigeria is not by hard work and creative strategising, but by figure juggling.

TERRORISTS/ISLAMISTS/EXTREMISTS, UNKNOWN GUN MEN, BANDITS AND THE MAMMOTH CROWDS

We are moved with great shock, shame and embarrassment to watch from over here on this side of the Atlantic the idiocy being displayed by virtually all the Presidential candidates and all those that they have over the years used poverty to keep them down for exploitation at their pleasure, now making up these so-called mammoth crowds at a time that by our reckoning, should be declared a national emergency due to the current grave threats to national security, courtesy of the very bizarre level of poverty, general unemployment, very high degree of inflammable religiosity, unparalleled border porosity, amongst others.

Pray, if those now fighting dirty to govern our Nigeria, not for her sake, but for the sake of their pockets, self-glory, personal aggrandizement, are not security conscious, shouldn’t all of the Nigerian people tie sack clothes, rub ashes on their bodies, go to the national square naked and mourn for our dear country, her future, and our collective destiny?

No wonder, some of these very rotten eggs that have come amongst us, whom this writer has continued to refer to as the rottenest alternatives, particularly Baba Emilokanor and all emilokanees/emilokanites, have told the nation and the world they want to continue the works of Xerxes of Daura.
