PART THREE

SERIES: BUHARISM AND THE FIERCE URGENCY OF NOW

“Institutions are the weakest, where there is no country such as is currently the case with the lower and upper Niger – known simply in the pre-amalgamation era (before 1914) as THE NIGER AREA.”

THE DESTRUCTION, DESTABILIZATION AND THE WEAKENING OF NATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND THEIR SUBSEQUENT ISLAMIFICATION, HAUSANIZATION AND ARABINIZATION BY THE CALIPHATE DELUSIONISTS AND THEIR AGENTS IN KHAKI AND AGBADA

THE CIVIL SERVICE, THE MILITARY AND THE POLICE

Generals Murtala and Olusegun Obasanjo destroyed the civil service; Obasanjo after the military coup of February 13, 1976 destroyed the Army by sacking the very best the Nigerian nation could boast of, not minding how much had been trained.

Obasanjo did not only throw away the baby with the bath water, but threw away experience; Buhari too continued with the same pattern after he had taken over in 1983; General Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida took that very bad precedence to an abysmal level after all of the attempted and failed coups against him - the Nigeria Air Force Plane crash at Ejigbo in Lagos on the 26th of September, 1992 must be investigated as I have been crying out since the incident, because there was a very high level of suspicion around it.

In the Nigerian Air Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules that crashed three minutes after take-off from Lagos, all the best the nation could boast of as her Air Force’s best, were selfishly wasted (158 persons in number, including 8 foreigners).

After, the failed Gideon Orkhar coup, IBB waged ceaseless war against the Air Force. The Air Force in Nigeria till date has continued to *smart under that ruthless and crushing war waged against it by the IBB Administration.

The destruction of the military and the Air Force was completed by IBB and the calculation was to take Olusegun Obasanjo/Sokoto Caliphate’s war against the Middle Belt's finest in the Army to an extreme height, with the retirement and actual killings of officers from the Belt.

Also, did any Nigerian out there know how and why General Domkat Bali was kicked out of the Army by General Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida, even though he was the most senior serving General at the time and was in fact, IBB's senior and a gallant officer of the first rating?

I dare say, unarguably that the decimation of the military officers of the Middle Belt, including the ranks by the Hausa/Fulani hegemony and Oligarchic class had done a lot of damage to the psyche of the people from the Middle Belt politically since 1976 till date, forcing them to retreat to the background as mere followers and "willing tools", a role the jihadi Ahmadu Bello said was most fitted for them.

How about Victor Malu versus Olusegun Obasanjo - another agent of Gida Uthman Dan Fodio?

I leave this to your imagination, but don't; and never, ever forget the Zaki Biam exploit under Obasanjo, linking it with the stoppage of Uthman Dan Fodio and his band of terrorists who wanted to access the East through the Tivland by the Tivs together with the current fate of the Middle Belters in the hands of the jihadi pastoralists and their foreign jihadi collaborators, with Muhammadu Buhari's Presidency and the Sultan of Sokoto turning a blind eye!

DO WE REALLY HAVE INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA…BETTER STILL, ARE THERE PLACES/THINGS TO BE REFERRED TO AS NATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA?

For the purpose of this article, it may sound contradictory as I have in this same piece referred to “institutions” or “national institutions”, but in reality, there are no such things in Nigeria, and by extension Africa to be so referred to as “institutions” or “national institutions”, rather what we have been having since the 1960s in Nigeria are what I can here call: PERSONSTITUTIONS, INDIVIDUALSTITUTION, HEAD OF STATETITUTIONS, PRESIDENTSTITUTIONS, CULTISTUTIONS, BIGMANSTITUTIONS/BIGMENSTITUTIONS/BIGWOMENSTITUTIONS, OGASTITUTIONS, POWERSTITUTIONS, HERO-WORSHIPSTITUTIONS, PRIVILEGESTITUTIONS, HEREDITARYSTITUTIONS, NEPOSTITUTIONS, FAMILISTITUTIONS, ETHNICSTITUTIONS, MILLIESTITUTIONS or MILITARYSTITUTION, MYSTITUTION, SELF-STITUTION, STATESTITUTION, GOVERNORSTITUTION, MDstitution, CEOstitution, IGPstitution, GENERALSTITUTION, COMPTROLER-GENERALSTITUTION, DIRECTOR-GENERALSTITUTION, GENERAL-OVERSEERSTITUTION, PASTORSTITUTION, JUDGESTITUTION, PRINCIPALSTITUTION, VICE-CHANCELLORSTITUTION, PRESIDENCYSTITUTION,OBASTITUTION, OBISTITUTION, SULTANSTITUTION, hence all the so-called institutions in Nigeria are built around men, women, class, ethnic nationalities, the military, family in power in Nigeria at any given point in time.

What all these mean is that individuals who occupy these public spaces are the strongest, whilst the spaces themselves the weakest. This is why an arch-nepotist, arch-jihadist, supra-bigot, change thief, hope shatterer, joy killer, destiny changer/destroyer, dream killer, extremist, an unparalleled ethnicist, a non-nationalistic and subversive element like Muhammadu Buhari can be referred to as a hero and a statesman by some idiots.

Institutions are the weakest, where there is no country such as is currently the case with the lower and upper Niger – known simply in the pre-amalgamation era (before 1914) as THE NIGER AREA.

This explains why since the 1960s till date, and with respect to the military, since the first coup of January 15th, 1966, every military Government had had to re-clone the military and every semblance of the so-called national institution in the images of the heads of such military Governments, hence every military Government, as well as every civilian Government has had to dismantle the military and the entire apparatus of Government they had met in order to make them very subservient, so as to fuel and massage their VERY FRAGILE AND FEARFUL EGOS through such unwarranted destabilization by way of sacking every goddamned General and top level civil servants not from their ethnic nationalities or geo-political regions/zones, only to replace them with persons from their own very immediate families, ethnic nationalities, cronies, who under this aberration and illegality not in tandem with national reality, pluralism, fairness and balance are given accelerated promotions from their hitherto junior positions to the commanding heights of the military, police, para-military, the civil services, including the parastatals.

Such so-called ethnically motivated ‘restructuring’ of the so-called national institutions are usually termed by the likes of Olusegun Obasanjo, those before him and those after him as a ‘balancing act’, and where junior officers have been promoted above their seniors, such promotions are usually called political or administrative appointments and not professional appointments. Their senior officers are either forcefully retired, politely asked to resign, are threatened to resign, given the option of resigning or be sacked or left to be humiliated by their juniors.

Thus, under such a very bizarre arrangement, you then had senior officers reporting to their juniors in the name of their juniors holding political or administrative appointments.

Ridiculously, in a contract-chasing environment like ours, where the officers don’t report directly to their juniors, they go cap in hand begging these their juniors for contracts, saying “Sir” to them without any iota of shame!

Even under the buccaneer Muhammadu Buhari, there is at least a professor – Anthony G. Anwukah at the Federal Ministry of Education serving as a junior Minister under a very less qualified one, (Mallam Adamu Adamu, Feder al Minister of Education) from his region of Nigeria.

The deliberate undermining of hierarchy/seniority in all facets of the Nigerian society – be it in the military, the police, the civil service, the judiciary, ministries, etc, are also, a contributory factor to the ruination of national, states and local governments space in Nigeria, resulting in gross indiscipline, absence of standards, patriotism, national loyalty, etc.

Sometimes the senior officers – whether military, police or civilian, who having been prematurely retired from service are compensated with ambassadorial appointments or given contracts or actually abandoned, just because they are not from the ethnic nationality or geo-political region of the person at the helm of affairs in Nigeria.

These illogicality and aberrations in the nation’s body politics have left it with highly weakened national spaces, and created monstrous dictators and medieval tyrants – the political gladiators manning and over-seeing national spaces to the detriment of country, but of immense benefits to the occupiers of such offices, their families, ethnic nationalities, friends and cronies – their band of ALLELUIA BOYS AND GIRLS!
