The Abandonment of National Nationalism and the Triumph of Ethnic Nationalism

Reading: Nigeria’s national morality barometer is very dry right now.

Still troubled by the aftermaths of the February 25th, 2023 Presidential Election as conducted by the Nigerian Electoral Commission (NEC not INEC), eventuating in the swearing in of a notorious criminal as the rower/coxswain of the National boat NIGERIYANA, JOHN ODEY ADUMA, pondering on where the national boat is heading right now, including where we are now as a people and nation, decries not only the hijacking of governmental spaces by the Agberos in Government (AIG) now promoting streeting justice, philosophy and jurisprudence, but the emergent nativist press in Nigeria, cultural and political nativists who are now and have been promoting and ravenously spreading the worst type of bestial and monstrous bigotry. And in his scholarly dissection of their highly nativized and agberoic ideology, he exposes their nativism thus: Out of my ethnic nationality (tribe), region or zone, always something good, but out of the others – the other ethnic nationalities (tribes) and regions or zones, always something bad.

And in accordance with the idiosyncratic tendencies of the emergent nativists on the nation’s socio-politico-econo-cultural spheres of the nation, Mr Aduma says, for the nativists, it is out of the question to ask, “Can anything good/bad/wrong come out of my ethnic nationality (tribe), region or Geopolizone(?)” because such a question applies only to the other – the other ethnic nationalities (tribes), regions or Poligeozones, hence according to them, the right question to ask should be, “Can anything good come out of the other – the other ethnic nationalities (tribes), regions or zones?

Consequently, Mr Aduma warns the nation – the Nigerian people, particularly the South West/Yoruba against this moral saintliness that has descended upon the polity since the AIG’s accident of history which has erroneously seen Amoda Ogunlere presiding over the affairs of the nation at the Unity Village in the Unity City – that city of vultures, locusts, worms and parasites, lest this native creep becomes the norm and a way of life in the polity, such that after having been ingrained in our national psyche, the national question will then be: CAN ANTHING GOOD COME OUT OF THE OTHERS?

Mr Aduma also worries that nativism equally has the potential of spreading to the microscopic unit of the nation – the family, where this ethnic arrogance and holier-than-thou attitude could manifest in the family such that it could become the national ditty: nothing is wrong with my family/compound, but something sure is bad/wrong with the other families or nothing bad happens, can happen or is happening in my family/compound, but in the other families/compounds such that only “others” in Nigeria can come under the scrutiny or surveillance of the press in Nigeria, or generally speaking, worth scrutinising or probing always are the “others” (the other groups, regions or zones or families/compounds and not oneself or one’s ethnic nationality (tribe) or Geopolizone sub-nationality or sub-sub nationality, ad infinitum!

And in like manner, it can thus be deduced that the same could be said of one’s nuclear family – my wife, husband, children are not bad or badly behaved, but yours; and extended: my parents too are not bad, but yours, and generally, nothing is wrong with them, but something sure is wrong with your parents.

Also, don’t probe me, but probe the other person!

Lest we forget, when will Islamist Muhammadu Buhari and his band of crooked crabs be probed of the stupendous corruption during their eight years of ignominious and satanic rule, including all the killings by the Fulani herders, local and international terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, the so-called unknown uniformed men and women, and other intransigeances of theirs against the Nigerian state?

But by whom?

‘St’. Amoda Ogunlere (a.k.a. Bola Ahmed Tinubu)?

How much did Amoda inherit from the Buhari Government? Just how much did he meet in the nation’s coffers? And when will Islamist Ogunlere make this public?

And whoever currently oversees governance in that country must stop the Nigeria-Niger Jihadi Line project immediately and probe it too.

But….

Do You Know Why They Have Lost Their Voices?

                (In Condemnation of *BABA)

 Whatever happened to the cicadas which once

disturbed our mid-day sun with their endless shrills;

Whatever happened to the talking parrots of the rainforest

and the hooting owl of the Savanna

and the cooing dove of **Okipu?

Whatever happened to the roaring lions prowling about;

Whatever happened to the elephant tetrarch of the jungle,

dreaded tree feller of the rainforest?

Whatever happened to the leopards

which once kept the python in check;

What, what, what?

Whatever happened to the sniffer dogs

which once kept off intruders from far-off land?

Whatever happened to the village cocks

which once crowed and crowed keeping

every villager awake all night?

Whatever happened to the hyena

which once wailed and wailed

and refused to be comforted?

O' whatever happened to the vicious serpent

and the poisonous rattle snake;

the village iguana whose appearance in the day

sent cold shivers down the spine of the whole village?

Whatever happened to the village cats

that constantly mewed and mewed?

Whatever happened to all those super-eruptive

volcanoes spewing skyward their molten lava

and magmas forcing up always the king's adrenalin?

Whatever happened to the diving hawks

which kept the chicks and the king in constant trepidation?

But where have all the roaring lions gone?

And where are the wandering leopards;

the singing canaries and the noisy weaver birds

and the talking parrots?

Where have the crowing cocks gone,

the mewing cats, the rattle snakes

and the vicious cobras?

Where to have all the barking dogs disappeared;

the elephant king of the jungle, the wailing hyena

and the howling wolves?

And where are all the village town criers,

who do bear us ancestral messages?

Just where have they all gone;

Hibernating and anxiously waiting for the game to be shared?

But if they did not partake of the sharing,

will they ever cry out again?

And will the talking parrots, the chirping canaries

the hooting owls, the noisy weaver birds and the cicadas

ever keep us wide awake again in this morgue of a nation

And graveyard of a country?

Will they?

But will the town criers ever cry out again?

AMODA & HIS ONE-MAN (INTERVIEW) SHOW…CONSULTATION IS CENTRAL/KEY TO GOVERNANCE, AND MORE SO, TEAMWORK AND A TEAM SPIRIT

The Lone Ranger Recruiter…Oga Ogunlere, you be Lone Ranger!

Huh-huh-huh! Gbe nu re so un jo. Ma je ke eni ke ni ma ba wa san nonsense…. AWALOKAN! Please, please, please, wait for your turn!

The placeholder ‘President’ must stop the ongoing one-man interview show for the reasons that Nigeria is not a one-man show or a family business or an estate of one man or Amoda’s Private Company (APC) or Amoda’s Property Consortium (APC), so anyone could resort to such crassly insensate exhibitionism in a national recruitment exercise to very sensitive political offices that should involve the state Governors, acting on behalf of their states by sending each, a list of two very competent persons to the Presidency (President) for consideration for the positions of the Secretary of State (Minister) and Minister of State (junior Minister -JM), including other sensitive public offices, ensuring INCLUSIVITY in addition to reflecting our DIVERSITY.

Thus, recruitments into sensitive public offices must not be carried out as a one-man show as if it were a family business – even if in a family business, where consultation is very necessary; and universal altruism, democracy and mutual self-respect are key, top-level recruitments should be a management thing, and not a thing of one man for one man and by one man indulging in self-aggrandizement and self-glory!

Nor any form of recruitment exercise be made by the self-same man to become a season or time for political patronage for cronies - one’s kinsmen, friends/allies, rewarding loyalty and seeking to rehabilitate all fellow crooks and criminals, including ex-convicts, and with an eye to levelling the ground for 2027, nor must it ever be used to promote nativism or ethnicism. Therefore, this nonsense has got to stop, and stop must this agberoism!

Thus far, it is Sheikh (Alhaji) Ogunlere and his wife Remi that have been running the government since May 29th, 2023. But why is Remi, a housewife, always present at official meetings?

FELLOW NIGERIANS, WHAT SECTION OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA SUPPORTS HER UBIQUITOUS PRESENCE AT OFFICIAL MEETINGS?

And in what capacity? Is she the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Or she is there to support her husband on health ground, in case, he forgets things or suffer memory loss?

Then the “FIRST DAUGTER OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA” IS MISSING!

You see what I mean, Mens sana in corpore sano?

Flesh upon flesh; all is flesh and earthbound. And unto dust shall all flesh return one day.
