SERIES: BUHARISM AND THE FIERCE URGENCY OF NOW

PART 6
Dedicated to all those Nigerians who will never, ever give up on our Nigeria, despite all her faults, believing in her still, and hoping that only Nigerians can recreate Nigeria and make her to become the envy of the world and the most coveted place to live on the planet earth. As a matter of fact, whoever is tired of Nigeria is tired of life; for Nigeria has got all that life can offer anyone on the planet earth.

Also, I want it to be recorded for posterity that whilst I was with you, I never sought a ready-made country and a perfect country full of perfect people, but that I naturally found myself in an imperfect country of very diverse and very imperfect people and I never tried to make the people or the country perfect, but it was always my heart desire to try to make these imperfect country and people to understand one another in order to forget about their differences, whilst aiming to make Nigeria better for all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria, so they can live amongst themselves in a situation of highly contained strifes/frictions/conflicts and misunderstanding, and resolving all these squirmishes amicably in a manner that conforms with the principles of universal altruism, national and international brotherhood.

Finally, I tell you the truth by God, unless our acceptance of one another exceeds the universal acceptance of kola nut amongst all Nigerians, we shall not realize the political kingdom of Nigeria. Produced by the Yorubas in the South West of Nigeria; sold by the Hausa and the Fulani people of the North; venerated and celebrated by the Igbos in the South East of Nigeria; kola is very much loved and cherished by all Nigerians on the two halves of the Great River, and it brings life, love, friendship, peace, harmony and peaceful co-existence in every gathering, assembly and event that this fruit of the heavens is shared.

Kola nuts in a tray

My mission therefore, is to get every Nigerian to accept themselves as one, just as in a typical Nigerian gathering, kola nut presented to such an august assembly is accepted by all without questioning and without disputation, and where the same kola is shared and passed round, each takes their share without refusing, without questioning and without disagreement and without starting a fight.
And it is also, my ultimate mission to get the whole of humanity together under one universal roof and under one God who is the Creator of all.

- JOHN ODEY ADUMA

PUT DOWN YOUR SWORD Matthew 26:52

"I will not come when ye can help yourselves," says the Lord of hosts.

COWS AND CATTLE EGRETS

Do the cows and egrets ever think or talk of going their separate ways?

Again, unless the relationship that exists between one Nigerian and the other exceeds that between a cow and an egret, they shall severally perish like fools. What time this relationship began, no one knows, except one could deduce that they had been in this sort of symbiotic relationship, not just from time immemorial, but from the beginning of creation. Wherever these two creatures are found, it will be noticed that one is giving something and the other is taking - whilst the cow provides a comfortable, peaceful and a secure hunchback and an environment upon which the egret perches, feeds, wanders and plays around, the egret does ensure all external forces which come in form of insects such as gnats, lice, worms, etc, and threaten the life of its host are eaten up, and the flies either equally devoured by the often very friendly and ever dutiful egret or are kept off.

Unlike the cow and egret which first, have a relationship with nature, and then with one another, Nigerians don't have a relationship with their country, as what passes for a relationship between Nigerians and their country, runs on a parallel line, and never, ever meeting! Conversely, as there isn't an unconditional relationship between Nigerians and their country, there isn't one either amongst Nigerians themselves, except such as is based on somehting - a somewhat, WHAT-IS-IN-IT-FOR-ME? type of relationship - a parasitic relationship that exists between a host and a parasite, the drone in a beehive and other bees. This is the type of relationship that has engendered the NATIONAL CAKE SYNDROME (NCS).

A TOAST TO NIGERIAN UNITY AND BROTHERHOOD

Psalm 133

 1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
