Governor Ahmad Aliyu, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Engr. Idris Muhammad Gobir, stated that a clean environment is a vital foundation for a healthy society. He explained that the state government’s determination to sustain the beautification and cleanliness of the metropolis informed the decision to provide additional equipment to enhance sanitation operations.
The Governor further noted that the nine new refuse collection vehicles are in addition to the eleven existing onesalready managed by the company for daily evacuation exercises. He also disclosed that the company has been provided with sanitation materials, including cleaning kits, household dustbins, and safety gear, to support efficient waste management across the city.
Governor Ahmad Aliyu expressed optimism that Biofil-Technology Nigeria Limited would immediately swing into action towards achieving the set objectives of maintaining a cleaner and healthier Sokoto.
In his response, the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Ibukun Taiwo, pledged the company’s readiness to make the best use of the vehicles and sanitation materials provided, assuring the government of effective service delivery.
